In 1988 a group of independent business people who understood the value of tax law for self-funded health care for incorporated businesses met with the purpose of designing the private health services plan concept.

The overriding philosophy was to provide a health, dental & vision care program that would maximize CRA government tax advantages while at the same time operating cost-effectively.� As member volume increased the required costs would decrease.

In keeping with the spirit of the founders, PHSP processing costs have not increased since 1988 and the program has grown exponentially through internal cross-promotion among the members.� Puhl Employee Benefits currently serves over 100 companies and several associations.
